With the deadline for applications for the next school year fast approaching (Janaury 15) we have compiled a list of the Knowsley primary schools hat have received the highest Ofsted rankings, of ‘good’ and ‘outstanding’, up to January 2023.
Ofsted is the regulatory body responsible for visiting schools across the country and grading them on a four-point scale.
Published in December 2021, the Ofsted report for St Albert’s Catholic Primary School reads: “When pupils arrive through the school’s gates, they are welcomed into a safe haven. They grow in confidence and make strong gains academically and emotionally. Pupils feel happy and safe because of the excellent relationships they have with staff. They said that staff genuinely care about them."
6. Park Brow Community Primary School - Good
Published in 2021, the Ofsted report for Park Brow Community Primary School states: “Pupils value their friends. They said that there is always a helping hand, and no one is left out. Pupils typically behave well. They understand about different types of bullying, including cyber bullying. Pupils said that bullying occasionally happens but that the adults in school quickly help to sort out any incidents of unkindness. Pupils feel safe, cared for and well supported."
7. St John Fisher Catholic Primary School - Good
Published in September 2021, the Ofsted report for St John Fisher Catholic Primary School reads: “Pupils get on well together and any rare fallings out are often resolved by the pupils themselves. Pupils are confident that when they ask their teachers for help, including with bullying, issues will be resolved fairly and sensitively. Teachers, parents and carers agree that pupils are well cared for."
8. St Marie’s Catholic Primary School - Good
Published in July 2021, the Ofsted report for St Marie’s Catholic Primary School reads: “Pupils at St Marie’s know that staff want them to do their best in everything. Pupils show that they know this by behaving well and working hard. They are polite. For example, they hold doors open for adults and smile at visitors. Pupils are doing well in learning about a wide variety of subjects, including mathematics and reading."
