Former Everton player David Ginola captured the heart of a nation - here’s why

Ginola joined the Premier League in 1995 when he transferred from Paris Saint-Germain to Newcastle United.

After leaving the club in 1997 he continued to play in the Premier League going on to play for Tottenham and Aston Villa. He ended his career at Everton, you may remember his seven game stint with them in 2002 before he retired.

Now the former winger is stealing the hearts of the nation as a contestant on I’m A Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!

On Monday night’s episode, the 54-year-old was seen giving fellow contestant Danny Miller a bit of encouragement with a motivational speech.

“Think about all the good things, and not the bad things. Try to say ‘OK, I haven’t done that before,” he said.

“You’re going to do it. It’s as simple as that. You’re strong. I believe in you. Do it for you”.

The speech clearly had an effect on Miller, who thanked Ginola, and later went on to describe him as his ‘man crush’.

Ginola also stole the hearts of viewers across the country after his moving moment with Miller.

Previous Queen of the Castle, Gionvanna Fletcher commented on the I’m a Celeb Instagram reel: ‘Gosh I love him!! Xxxx”

While another user commented, “David is King already, what an inspirational guy”.
