Man shot in legs in Wirral street during ‘targeted’ attack - Merseyside Police renew appeal for information

A number of lines of enquiry are being pursued by detectives following the incident in the Woodchurch area.

Merseyside Police believe the shooting of a man in a Wirral street on Saturday night was a targeted attacked

The 21 year old was on Orrets Meadow Road when he was shot in the leg at around 8.10pm. He was taken to hospital, where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

An investigation is underway and house-to-house, CCTV and forensic examinations have been carried out in the Woodchurch area. A number of lines of enquiry are being pursued by detectives.

Detective Inspector John Holden said: “We are continuing to appeal for anyone who was in the area of Orrets Meadow Road or Hoole Road at around 8pm last night who saw or heard anything suspicious to contact us as a matter of urgency.

“Guns have no place on the streets of Merseyside and we need the community to come forward and tell us what they know so that we can take action against the people responsible.

“Please check your dashcam or Ring doorbell if you live locally to see if you captured anyone acting suspiciously either before or after the incident.”
