📰 Liverpool City Council is set to introduce a garden waste collection charge of £40 per year on green bins.

The local authority says this is in a bid to manage their budget. Rather than cutting frontline services, they’re introducing additional charges for some things, to offset the impact.

The council say they expect it to be implemented sometime in the late spring, or early summer.

📰 The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for the region.

Storm Dudley will bring a spell of very strong winds and a risk of disruption late on Wednesday and into the small hours of Thursday.

Experts are urging caution, especially when travelling on roads.

📰 According to the British Geological Survey, a so-called 'earthquake' felt across Liverpool could have been an 'airquake'.

The rumble and tremors were likely caused by a sonic airwave caused by a jet.

When aircraft travel faster than the speed of sound, it can create a shock wave - a sonic boom, which can sound like thunder.
