📰 An oil pipeline leak off the coast of North Wales is expected to wash up on Southport, Ainsdale and Formby beaches.

Sefton Council has issued a warning to the public to expect 'tar balls' to appear along the coastline after around 500 barrels of oil seeped into the Irish Sea on Monday.

📰 Tiger Roll will not be going for a third Grand National triumph after being pulled out by owner Michael O'Leary.

The decision came just hours after the weights for the Aintree Festival were announced. The National is a handicap chase where weights are allocated according to each runner's rating.

According to the AA, the price of petrol jumped to an all-time high of 148.02p per litre at the weekend, days after diesel reached a record 151.57p.

The cheapest place to buy a litre of fuel in Liverpool on Wednesday 15 February 2022, according to  data from PetrolPrices.com is Costco, Waterloo Street, L3 7HY: petrol 136.9p; diesel 148.6p.
