East Lancs Road closed after motorbike and lorry crash

Part of East Lancashire Road has been closed by police following a crash.

At around 6.35am on Thursday (May 9), Merseyside Police received reports of a collision between a motorbike and a lorry on the eastbound carriageway between Moorgate Road and the slip road for the M57.

Emergency services are at the scene and the eastbound carriageway of the East Lancs Road is currently closed while the incident is being dealt with. There are also delays between Willow Way (Gillmoss) and Moorgate Road (Knowsley).

It is not yet known if anyone has been seriously injured in the crash. Motorists are advised to avoid the area and a number of local bus services are being diverted.
