In pictures: Celebrities, protests and key figures at Labour Party conference in Liverpool

Andy Serkis and Gary Neville were among the famous faces to attend the Labour Party conference in Liverpool with Keir Starmer and Angela Rayner.

Labour and their followers have gathered in Liverpool for the party’s first conference since being returned to government by voters in July’s general election.

They won with a landslide majority of 172 seats, and 412 in total, ending 14 years of Conservative rule.

Liverpool is a Labour stronghold but it hasn’t been a completely smooth ride in the city for Prime Minister Keir Starmer and his party.

The conference has seen a number of protests over the decision to withdraw the winter fuel allowance for some pensioners and there have also been pro-Palestine demonstrations in the city.

However, a number of celebrities were also in attendance, throwing their weight behind Labour as they lay out their ‘plan for change’ at ACC Liverpool.
