Merseyside Police are continuing their search for the gunman who killed nine-year-old Olivia Pratt-Korbel, who was fatally shot at her home in Dovecot on Monday night.

Joseph Nee, 35, from the Dovecot area, was being chased by a masked man armed with a handgun when he forced his way into Olivia’s home to escape.

Olivia was shot as her mother tried to close the door on the intruders.

Nee, a convicted burglar and drug dealer, was alos shot during the incident and has been arrested by police in hospital and is being questioned.

Officers have described the gunman as approximately 5ft 7in tall and of slim build. Enquiries remain ongoing into the incident.

🚨 The Mayor of Liverpool has called the shooting of 9-year-old Olivia Pratt-Korbel an "abhorrent act of evil." Taking to Twitter, Joanne Anderson said, "Liverpool has a history of strength and solidarity. We must work together to bring those responsible for this atrocity to justice."

🚨 Detectives investigating the shooting of Ashley Dale in Old Swan have released CCTV footage of a car being driven in the area shortly before her death. Officers wish to speak to the person driving the vehicle, or any passengers, as they believe they could have vital information that could help the investigation.
