Murder suspect bailed as man found dead in Wirral house named

A man who was found dead at a house on New Ferry Road on Tuesday has been identified as 45-year-old Kenneth ‘Kenny’ Gillam.

Merseyside Police arrested a 59-year-old man from New Ferry on suspicion of murder shortly after the discovery but he has now been bailed with conditions.

A post mortem has taken place and further police enquiries are ongoing to establish the cause of death of Mr Gillam.

What happened?

At around 01.30 on Tuesday morning emergency services were called to a report that a man had been found unconscious at an address on New Ferry Road.

Paramedics attended but he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Police cordoned off two scenes, on New Ferry Road and Egerton Park, whilst officers made forensic and house-to house enquiries.

Detectives arrested a murder suspect from Wirral, who was taken to a police station on Merseyside for questioning.

The 59-year-old man has since been bailed with conditions.

Officers remain at the scene on New Ferry Road while further enquiries are carried out.
