It’s no secret that Liverpool has its own special way of speaking, with an iconic accent and many phrases that probably don’t make sense if you’re not from the area.
If you’re unfamiliar with the dialect you may not even realise when you’re being insulted, with Scousers coming up with a whole host of hilarious jibes, from accusing you of clapping when planes land to calling you a ‘div’.
We asked our readers to share their favourite insults that are unique to Liverpool, and had a great time reading the suggestions. From phrases many of us learned from our grandparents, to more modern put downs, here are some of our favourite Scouse insults. How many of these do you know?
