Looking out of your window on Friday morning, you might have been hard-pressed to believe we're heading into Spring. Waking up to a blanket of snow may look nice, but it caused major travel disruption and school closures.

The Met Office issued an extended yellow weather warning for ice in Liverpool and the surrounding area as temperatures are expected to dip below freezing overnight as we head into Saturday.

MerseyTravel warned of issues when entering and exiting both Mersey Tunnels, the Merseyrail network was suspended on Friday morning and Liverpool John Lennon Airport was hit by delays.

There was good news for kids, but maybe not parents, as more than 30 schools across the region closed, leading to snowmen and sledding across Merseyside gardens and parks.
