Teenage boy stabbed and robbed in ‘shocking attack’ by group of 10 masked men in Liverpool

Police are appealing for witnesses to help track down the gang and ‘remove them from our streets’.

A teenage boy is recovering in hospital after being stabbed in a ‘shocking attack’ by a group of 10 masked men in Sefton Park last night.

A gang, wearing dark clothing and with their faces covered, approached two teenage boys riding push bikes through the park between 8.00pm and 8.30pm on Thursday.

The men then assaulted and stabbed one of the boys before they stole the black Carrera Vengeance mountain bike he was riding.

The boy was taken to hospital with injuries to his back and shoulder where he remains in a stable condition.

Police appeal for witnesses

An investigation is underway and officers are currently carrying out CCTV and witness enquiries in the area.

Detective Inspector Gavin Mulcahy said: “We are in the early stages of an investigation into a shocking attack on a teenage boy that could have left him gravely injured.

“If you were nearby or in Sefton Park last night and saw anything or anyone suspicious then please let us know. Similarly, if you have any CCTV or doorbell footage then please review it and come forward if you see anything.

“Patrols have also been stepped up to reassure those in the area.

“Knife crime has no place whatsoever in our communities. If you know anything about this incident, please let us know as soon as possible. Your information could be vital in tracking down those responsible and removing them from our streets.”
