The people of Liverpool tell us who inspires them this International Women’s Day

International Women's Day is a global celebration of women's social, economic, cultural, and political achievements.

Marked annually, it's a day to inspire all women to believe in themselves and their ability.

We’ve been on the streets of Liverpool to find out about your most inspiring females.

‘My mum because of all she’s been through’

Liz says: "My mum because of all she's been through. She's nearly 93, she's just been diagnosed with breast cancer, and she's just amazing. I hope I live as long as she has, and I hope she lives a lot longer too."

‘All my friends’

Molly says: "All my friends because no matter what they're going through, they still come into school and put a smile on your face. They're very resilient."

‘I feel like it’s a bit of a cliche but probably my mum’

Lucy says: "I feel like it's a bit of a cliche but probably my mum just because no matter what happens to her, she keeps going, she carries on doing what she's doing, and she's amazing."
