Two arrested after stabbing outside Adelphi Hotel leaves man with ‘serious injuries’
Two people have been arrested by Merseyside Police after a man was stabbed in Liverpool city centre in the early hours of Friday morning.
An altercation took place outside the Adelphi Hotel, on Ranelagh Street, which left the man hospitalised with serious injuries.

Hide AdA 24-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman were later arrested at a nearby aparthotel.
Police are still looking for another man and woman connected with the incident, who were reported to have fled the scene.
What happened?
At around 02.40 this morning, police responded to a report that a man had been approached by a group of two men and two women on Ranelagh Place.
Following an altercation, it was reported that the man was stabbed in the stomach and the suspects fled the scene.

Hide AdEmergency services attended and the man was taken to hospital.
Following enquiries, police located a man and woman at an aparthotel on Fairclough Street, a short distance away, and officers arrested them on suspicion of Section 18 Assault.
Extensive CCTV, witness and forensic enquiries are ongoing to locate the other man and woman.

Chief Inspector Rob Ross said: “We are in the extremely early stages of an investigation into a stabbing which has left a man seriously injured.

Hide Ad“While we have made two arrests, our enquiries continue to locate a further man and woman who we believe are also linked to the incident.
“If you were in the area near the Adelphi Hotel this morning and witnessed the incident, or saw anything or anyone suspicious then please get in touch. Any information you hold could be vital to our investigation.
“Please tell us what you know and we will take action to remove dangerous weapons and those who use them from our streets.”
