It has been a sunny start to the day in Liverpool today, with temperatures starting off at around 9°C and rising to 11°C by the early afternoon.

A sharp northwesterly wind will make it feel much cooler than of late and clouds in the afternoon will see a small chance of showers. There will be a maximum temperature of 12 °C.

Friday will be much cloudier but temperatures should remain at a not too chilly 12°C throughout most of the day. Keep an eye out for another small chance of showers in the morning.

The cloud will persist into Saturday but there is less chance of any showers dampening outdoor plans.

The cool breeze is set to ease and there should be a milder day in store.

Sunday will see temperatures climb to 15°C in places and a cloudy start should make way for a brief spell of sunshine in the late morning.

However, this won’t last, with showers forecast for Sunday afternoon and will be accompanied by strong winds.

The new week will bring about a further chance of showers on Monday afternoon, but it should be a dry morning across the city
