Merseyside weather forecast: clear changing to cloudy after lunchtime

Temperatures could climb back up into double figures after a cooler start to the week.

Thursday will start with some Autumn sun but temperatures will remain decidedly chilly at around 8°C.

Towards the end of the week, it looks like it will remain sunny in spells, particularly in St Helens and Southport.

However, this doesn't mean it'll be dry; there is a chance of showers.

It’s looking warmer in Liverpool than in the rest of the region, where we could be back up to around 10°C on Friday.

As we move toward the weekend, it's a wet picture everywhere. Outside of Liverpool, temperatures are expected to reach between 8°C or 9°C.

Looking at the five-day forecast now and it looks like sunny spells for Saturday and Sunday, although temperatures will plummet back down to around 7°C.

There is a yellow weather warning in place for Saturday, with strong winds expected.

For Monday and Tuesday, it’s light rain and cloud cover with temperatures reaching 9°C to 10°C.
