Merseyside weather update Friday, 14 January, plus five-day forecast: Sunny intervals

Towards the end of the week, it's a dry and sunny picture for the region. Temperatures are hitting double figures apart from St Helens, where it's reaching highs of 9°C and Southport with highs of 8°C.

It remains dry as we move into the weekend, but that sun will be hiding behind clouds across the region. With that, we'll see temperatures dropping slightly with highs of 7°C.

And looking at the five-day forecast now and it's a primarily dry picture for us here. There could be some clouds and even some patchy rain edging its way in at the back half of the weekend, but that should be followed by dry and sunny weather as we move into next week.

Temperatures are staying relatively mild for this time of year, with highs of 10°C on Monday.
