Merseyside weather update Friday, 21 January, plus five-day forecast: Overcast but dry

Towards the end of the week, it's sunny and mainly dry across the region, apart from Birkenhead and Southport, where there's a chance of patchy showers. Temperatures hitting highs of 8°C.

As we move into the weekend, it remains dry, but that sun will be hiding behind clouds across the region as it is looking overcast. It is reaching highs of 9°C in Southport, elsewhere highs of 8°C.

And looking at the five-day forecast now, it's a primarily dry picture for us here, so you can put away your brollies and waterproofs for now.

Overcast at times, but temperatures are not too cold for this time of year.

Into next week it's staying dry albeit partly cloudy, with highs of 9°C on Monday.
