Storm Arwen started to hit city of Liverpool on Friday and is expected to get worse as we head into Saturday.

The Met Office has upgraded the yellow weather warning to amber for the start of the weekend.

The alert was issued on Friday morning and is expected to last from 00:00 to 09.00 on Saturday.

The storm could potentially bring torrential rainfall and overpowering winds to Merseyside.

The Met Office have also placed a ‘danger to life’ indicator over the storm, with potential widespread disruption to travel and flying debris caused by gales.
