Wirral murder investigation: Two arrested after man dies in Heswall house

Merseyside Police have arrested two people on suspicion or murder following the death of man in a house in Heswall on Monday night.

Officers were called to a property on Oldfield Way at around 20.45 and found a male in his 60s with serious injuries. He was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

A 21 year-old man and a 54 year-old woman were both arrested at the scene and are currently in custody.

A murder investigation is underway and house-to-house, CCTV and forensic enquiries are being carried out.

Detective Chief Inspector Paul Nilsen said: “The investigation is in the very early stages as we seek to establish what has happened and we are following a number of lines of enquiry.

“I would appeal to anyone who was in the area of Oldfield Way last night who saw or heard anything suspicious to contact to us as they may have information which is vital to our investigation.”
