The 33-year-old Chilean forward is an experienced player, who has played in three out of the five major football leagues in Europe, but has failed to sparkle in recent season.

The lowdown on Alexis Sanchez

After leaving Chilean side Cobreloa, Sanchez enjoyed two good seasons playing for Udinese in Italy and earned a move to Barcelona in 2011.

However, he was not able to reach the expected level at Camp Nou and the Spanish side the forward to Arsenal in 2014.

At the Gunners, Sanchez played the best football of his career. During his four seasons at Arsenal, he scored 80 goals in 166 matches and twice won the FA Cup.

In the winter of 2018, the Chilean made a surprise move and left the Londoners to join Manchester United - a move that proved to be a disaster.

At United, Sanchez scored five goals in 45 matches. He endured a series of poor performances and only lasted one and a half seasons at the Red Devils.

Sanchez was loaned to Inter Milan after the summer of 2019 and he signed a permanent deal in August 2020 before going on to win the Serie A title.

According to the Spanish media outlet TodoFichajes, the Italians have now offered Sanchez to the Toffees and would arrive at Goodison Park this winter.

An important player for Inter last season as he helped Antonio Conte’s side win Serie A, he has slipped down the pecking order under new coach Simone Inzaghi.

Inter are now looking to offload the Chilean, despite the fact he still has 18 months remaining on his current contract.

Would Sanchez be a good sign for the Toffees?

Everton do require some attacking reinforcements but given what happened with James Rodriguez it seems unlikely they would make a move for another highly-paid asset.

Sanchez was reportedly earned £500,000 per week at Manchester United.

Demarai Gray has been one of Everton’s standout performers this season and he already has Sanchez’s preferred position on the left of the attack locked down.
