Everton have been tipped to attempt a raid on Arsenal for the second successive transfer window.

Reports in France suggest that Rafa Benitez holds an interest in Nicolas Pepe.

Pepe has been disappointing at the Emirates Stadium since his £72m arrival from Lille in 2019.

Despite registering 25 goals and 18 assists in 108 appearances for the Gunners, many believe the club's record signing has not lived up to his hefty price tag.

This season, Pepe has only started six of Arsenal's 11 Premier League fixtures and laid on just one assist.

Who are interested?

According to Jeunes Footeux, Everton are eyeing a January move for the winger.

However, moneybags Newcastle and Crystal Palace are also said to hold an interest.

It's reported that a loan with a view to buy could be on the cards for Pepe, which would boost the Toffees chances of landing him given their precarious financial situation.

How likely is a deal?

Benitez could look to bolster his wide options, having relied greatly on Demarai Gray and Andros Townsend so far this season.

Youngster Anthony Gordon has come to the fore in recent weeks, although Alex Iwobi has generally struggled to build any sort of momentum.

Everton attempted to sign Ainsley Maitland-Niles on loan during the closing stages of the summer transfer window.

However, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta blocked the move, leading to Maitland-Niles hitting out at the club on social media.
