Gbamin has endured a nightmare spell since his £25 million move to the Toffees from Mainz in the summer of 2019.

In total, he has played just eight times for Everton amid a number of injury problems.

Gbamin, 26, now finds himself surplus to requirements at Goodison Park following the January arrivals of Donny van de Beek and Dele Alli.

The Ivory Coast international was left out of last weekend’s match-day squad against Leeds United - having played for the under-23s against Burnley. the previous evening.
