Everton forward Beto has failed to truly ignite his career on Merseyside and his agent has spoken out on reports of a move away.
The 26-year-old has played second fiddle to Dominic Calvert-Lewin this season playing just 43 minutes off the bench and failing to get off the bench in their last three games. His record overall is fairly poor with just six goals in 43 games.

As a result of his struggles, he has been linked with a move back to Italy. While he could return to Italy, the stumbling block would be his wages, according to his agent Gabriele La Manna. Speaking exclusively to Ok Calciomercato [11 October], he confirmed that the 26-year-old is on wages of €3million/year which is equal to £57k/week. La Manna said: “He could (return to Italy). Beto is out of Everton’s fold but the problem is linked to the cost of his contract: the Toffees paid a lot for him and the striker earns around €3million (£2.51million)”. He still has three years to run on his deal and the club may want to see if he can turn around his form with another campaign before considering any offers. While the quality hasn’t always been there, he always gives 110% and it has been a difficult time for any Everton forward due to the team’s lack of creativity overall.

They scored the lowest goals from open-play last season and being brought in and out of the team certainly didn’t help him acquire any sort of rhythm - and the same goes for this season. Clearly, there is some interest there from abroad and if they received a reasonable offer, it may well be considered.
However, it could largely depend on the fortunes of Broja who joined in a loan deal that also has an option-to-buy at the end of it. We also can’t forget that Calvert-Lewin is currently in the final year of his deal and could exit next summer if he doesn’t agree a new contract. Beto may want to see the outcome of that as well because he could be elevated into the line-up if he does exit next summer - he can sign a pre-contract from January meaning there wouldn’t be long to wait either.
