Everton defender Yerry Mina has been called up for Colombia duty.

The centre-back will meet up with his country for the international break at the end of the month.

Mina’s selection for Colombia comes after he’s only just returned to full fitness.

The former Barcelona man has endured an injury-ravaged season so far, having made just eight appearances for the Toffees.

Mina was absent a significant period after suffering a hamstring injury following his return from international duty in October.

Then after coming back into the starting line-up against Arsenal on December 6, he sustained a calf issue that sidelined him for more than a month.

Mina made his latest return to action in last weekend’s 2-1 loss at Norwich City.

However, Evertonians will now no doubt have their fingers crossed Mina doesn’t pick up another setback while away with Colombia.

They have World Cup qualifying games against Peru (28 January) and Argentina (1 February).

Has Richarlison been called up to the Brazil squad?

Everton fans will at least be pleased that Richarlison has been omitted from the Brazil squad.

The forward has also just returned from a calf complaint that kept him on the treatment table for more than a month.

Richarlison netted a consolation goal off the bench at Norwich.
