Goodison hero Duncan Ferguson, who bagged 72 goals during two spells at the club, is also in the mix to hold the reins on an interim basis.
The fans' favourite has been part of the first-team coaching staff since 2014 and served as caretaker boss in December 2019.

Hide AdSteven, who won two First Division titles, the European Cup Winners' Cup and FA Cup between 1983-89 at Everton, believes Ferguson is the correct man for the job.
He told Sky Sports News: “No-one comes to mind who is going to be able to deal with the initial crisis better than Duncan Ferguson.

“That man has done it before, there is absolutely nobody who knows the club better.
“I think he has a relationship with supporters that every manager in the country would die for to tell you the truth.

“I just think it's a no-brainer.”
