Duncan Ferguson gets set to charge of his second spell as Everton caretaker boss against Aston Villa tomorrow (12.30).
The fans’ favourite is holding the reins at Goodison Park after the sacking of Rafa Benitez last week.
The search is one to find the Toffees’ sixth manager since 201, with Wayne Rooney, Frank Lampard and Fabio Cannavaro all linked.
In the meantime, Ferguson has been handed the task of steering the ship.
During the Scot’s first stint as caretaker in December 2019, he guided Everton to a victory over Chelsea and draws with Arsenal and Manchester United.
He’s told the players a few ‘home truths’ this week amid a woeful run of just one win in 13 Premier League games.
During his pre-match press conference, Ferguson also admitted that ‘you’ve got to make some changes’ if the team isn’t winning.
With those comments in mind, here’s how we think Everton will line-up against Steven Gerrard’s Villa - in a 3-4-1-2 formation.
1. Goalkeeper - Jordan Pickford
Talked about the influence of Ferguson earlier this week and will be determined to deliver what is demanded.

2. Centre-back - Seamus Coleman
Had a tough season from his own point but you’d think the Everton skipper will be bang up for this game.

3. Centre-back - Yerry Mina
Simply has to come back into the team now fit. Everton’s best centre-back by a long way.

4. Centre-back - Ben Godfrey
The presence of Yerry Mina should bring more assurity and calmness out of the talented defender.
