Barring any hiccups, it will go through before 11pm and Dele’s long association with Spurs will come to an end.

The last two years might not have been pleasant for the midfielder, but Spurs fans will always remember the early days, the glorious goals against Crystal Palace and the double against Chelsea.

True Lillywhites will hope that the ace does well at Everton and rediscovers the form that made him a core of the Three Lions set-up a few years ago.

Dele Alli’s meteoric rise at Tottenham saw him establish himself as one of the giants of European football as a teenager.

Frank Lampard did a great job with the youngsters at Chelsea, and one of the reasons Alli is moving there is to get to work with Lampard, whose fingerprints are seen whenever Mason Mount plays.

Dele might have been a victim of his own early success, from his whirlwind rise at MK Dons to his blockbuster Premier League introduction.

So with the curtain finally coming down on his time at Tottenham, here are some starts to prove that Everton are getting an absolute genius, even if he is arriving a bit rusty.

  1. Dele will forever be remembered as the man who scored twice to end Chelsea’s 13 game winning streak. He scored two special headers one each half to seal the victory that day.
  2. It took Dele 52 Premier League games to reach 20 Premier League goals. To show how impressive that is, it took Lampard 140 games to get that and Gerrard 169 games.
  3. Despite struggling for form, consistency and game time for the last two seasons, he still has 51 goals from 181 games and 32 assists.
  4. Dele has played for England 37 times, a lot of appearances for someone who hasn’t been in the England team recently.
  5. He made 88 appearances for Milton Keynes in his formative years scoring 24 goals, proof that he will score goals everywhere he goes.
