Real Madrid have placed Isco on their transfer list amid Everton's reported interest.

The Toffees have been linked with a swoop for the Spain international in recent months as Rafa Benitez searches for more creativity in his engine room.

Background

Isco's a veteran at the Santiago Bernabeau, having won four Champions Leagues and two La Liga titles since arriving from Malaga in 2013.

However, he's firmly fallen out of favour at Los Blancos since Carlo Ancelotti returned as manager after his shock Everton departure in the summer.

Isco has made just seven appearances for Real this season, scoring one goal, and hasn't played since November.

What's been said

According to Marca, Isco is one of six players who've been put up for transfer by the Spanish giants ahead of the January transfer window.

Gareth Bale, club captain Marcelo, Mariano Diaz, Luka Jovic and Eden Hazard are also supposedly available.

However, the priority, it is claimed, is to offload Isco and Bale.

Will Everton make a move?

Benitez worked with Isco during his brief period as Real manager.

The Blues currently lack a natural number 10 at Goodison Park after the sale of James Rodriguez in October.

It's meant wingers such as Demari Gray, Alex Iwobi and Anthony Gordon have had to play off the main striker at times.

Isco's out of contract at the end of the campaign so he could be recruited for a cut-price fee in January.

However, his wage demands wouldn't be cheap and has no resale value at the age of 29.
