Salomon Rondon suffered a hamstring injury in Everton’s Merseyside derby defeat to Liverpool.

It’s likely the striker will now be added to the treatment room given the nature of his hamstring.

Rondon pulled up in the second half of the humbling 4-1 loss to the Reds on Wednesday night.

The Venezuela international went off the pitch after receiving treatment and tried to carry on.

But Rondon soon broke down again and was replaced by Anthony Gordon. He was gutted as he was substituted for the Toffees youngster.

Speaking after the game, Everton boss Rafa Benitez said: “He felt his hamstring so we will have to see what the physios say.”

How long will Rondon be out for?

It’s still unclear and will depend on the grade of a tear if that is indeed the case.

However, with hamstring issues, clubs often do not take any sort of risk so it does not worsen.

Everton next play Arsenal on Monday 6 December and they’ll be looking for their first win in eight games.

It remains to be seen if Rondon will be available.

Who might replace him?

Richarlison started alongside Rondon against Liverpool.

Benitez moved Demarai Gray, who netted Everton’s consolation goal, to a more central role after Gordon came on.

The Everton boss also brought on Cenk Tosun in the 85th minute for what was first appearance in almost a year.

Ellis Simms was left out of the match-day squad and is likely to come in if Rondon cannot be involved against Arsenal.
