Everton’s perfect record at Goodison Park this season came to an end with a 1-0 loss to West Ham on Sunday.

A tight game was settled by Angelo Ogbonna’s 74th-minute header as the Toffees failed to profit on a chance to move into the top four.

That was the key moment of the game, while Alex Iwobi’s first-half miss is also still vivid.

But here are some of the events you might not have picked up on.

“Psycho” lives up to moniker

Former players are often dotted around press boxes up and down the country.

Usually, they're on the airwaves as a co-commentator imparting their wisdom and analysing the game.

However, Stuart Pearce was among the media for a different reason - for a better vantage point.

The ex-England international is among David Moyes' coaching staff at West Ham. But rather than being in the dugout, he instead sat with the Hammers’ analyse team in the Goodison stands.

And Pearce couldn't hide his frustration at one particular moment in the first half.

When Pablo Fornals and Aaron Cresswell both pondered on a loose ball down the left flank, with neither taking responsibility, Pearce unleashed a fit of rage.

"Go to it!" was the bellow from the former Nottingham Forest defender, evidently frustrated with both players’ indecisiveness.

The reaction, unsurprisingly, turned the heads of those sitting in the directors' box below.

Many were unaware Pearce was in the vicinity beforehand. They certainly knew he was there afterwards.

During his playing days, Pearce was nicknamed "Psycho" for his aggressive style of play. In that moment, he lived up to that moniker.

Michael Keane was the pick of the Everton defence against the Hammers.

The centre-back made several important blocks throughout and largely dealt with the threat of Michail Antonio.

Keane's a no-nonsense defender. Heading and clearing are his meat and drink.

In the second half, however, he showed off his silky side.

In the 66th minute, Keane marauded forward with purpose. When closed down by a West Ham player, he displayed quick feet, leaving his opponent for dead and carryign on his run.

Keane then played a lobbed pass to Salomon Rondon and the Blues eventually won a corner from the attack.

With Yerry Mina only making the bench after returning from international duty with Colombia, Keane stepped up to the mantle.

Ben Godfrey came into central defence but he looks the likelier to be benched against Watford next week when Mina comes back into the team.

Gordon’s reception

Anthony Gordon could have felt aggrieved to find himself back on the substitutes' bench.

The 20-year-old winger delivered a fine performance in the 1-1 draw at Manchester United before the international break.

Alex Iwobi, who missed the United clash due to injury, returned to the starting line-up, although his performance was below par.

If Gordon was feeling disappointed to have been dropped then he'd have taken heart from the reaction he received from the home faithful when warming up.

All subs get a round of applause when they jog down toward the Gwladys Street end for the first time.

But the one that Gordon was given was by far the loudest.

The academy product, who came on with 11 minutes remaining, still has plenty of improvements to make if he's to become an Everton regular down the line.

However, supporters, for obvious reasons, are desperate for him to succeed.
