Rafa Benitez’s appointment as manager of Everton in June was met with tremendous controversy due to his links with rival club Liverpool as fans protested his arrival - around seven months later, the mood is still the same.
Despite overseeing a promising beginning to his reign which saw the Spaniard nominated for a Manager of the Month award after a three-game unbeaten start in August, Benitez’s Toffees are currently amidst a seven game winless run.

Everton are fresh off the back of a disappointing 3-2 defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion at Goodison Park last weekend which saw them plumett to 15th place in the league - eight points away from the dreaded relegation zone.
The atmosphere around the club is getting increasingly hostile, with boos and jeers from Toffee fans evident at the final whistle of more or less every game of the past few months.
The ex-Newcastle gaffer is feeling the pressure and is currently the favourite to become the next Premier League manager to be given his marching orders.

The main favourites to take the Spaniard’s place in the hot-seat are boyhood Evertonian and current Derby County manager, Wayne Rooney (7/2) and Premier League icon and former Chelsea boss, Frank Lampard.
Everton fans took to social media to vent their frustrations at the clubs current situation, calling for Rafa Benitez’s removal from his position.

Rafa Benitez is still Everton manager, however, and will be hoping to turn it around when his side travels to Hull City in the FA Cup on Saturday before hosting Leicester City in the Premier League next Tuesday.
