Mane bagged his ninth goal of the season in the Reds' 4-0 thrashing of Arsenal on Saturday.

He opened the scoring with a composed 39th-minute header which set Jurgen Klopp's side on their way to all three points.

Since arriving at Liverpool for £34 million from Southampton in 2016, Mane has been an indispensable player.

He's netted 106 times in 234 games, helping the Reds win the Champions League and Premier League.

Contract conundrum

Mane's in a similar position to Mo Salah at Anfield.

The wing wizards' respective contracts are both ticking down and expire in the summer of 2023. The pair are also aged 29.

Plenty has been made about extending Salah's deal. The former Chelsea forward, who many regard as the current player in the world, is said to be demanding £500,000 per week by one report.

And according to Goal, Mane wants to be rewarded with a lucrative new contract that recognises him as one of the best on the planet.

After committing his future in the summer, Virgil van Dijk is the top earner at Anfield.

Mane may want a wage packet that's similar to van Dijk, who many regard as the best central defender in the world.
