How Liverpool’s 10-year net spend compares to Man Utd, Man City and Arsenal amid FSG sale decision - gallery

A look at each Premier League team’s net spend from the last decade including Liverpool’s amid the FSG decision to sell the Reds.

Liverpool are officially up for sale after an announcement from Fenway Sports Group on Monday. FSG have owned the Reds since 2010, with the John Henry and Tom Werner-led group purchasing the club and Anfield 12 years ago. Since then, Liverpool have gone on to enjoy one of the most successful periods in many years, winning a Champions League title, their first ever Premier League, and plenty of other honours.

It hasn’t all been smooth sailing for FSG, though, with the Americans deciding to include Liverpool in the European Super League plans in recent years, a decision that led to outrage from supporters. The Reds backtracked on their involvement, and John Henry and co had to apologise for fans.

Well over a year on and FSG have announced they are fielding offers for the club, putting together a sales pitch for prospective buyers, and with that in mind, we have taken a look, with the help of Transfermarkt, at the net spend of Liverpool and their Premier League rivals from the last 10 years. Take a look below.
