How long will Naby Keita be injured for as Liverpool’s midfield crisis worsens and Man Utd’s Paul Pogba receives red card

Naby Keita was forced to be stretchered off in Liverpool’s 5-0 thrashing of Manchester United earlier today.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are now sweating on the midfielder’s fitness as problems in the engine room worsen.

Keita, who opened the scoring for the Reds, left the pitch on 64 minutes after he was on the receiving end of a nasty Paul Poga challenge.

The French midfielder was sent off for the tackle after a VAR review.

The challenge came after Keita had been one of Liverpool’s finest performers in their rampant display.

When he was forced to be withdrawn, with Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain coming on in his place, Jurgen Klopp’s men had the game sewn up at 5-0.

Keita broke the deadlock after just five minutes when he rounded off a sweeping move. Meanwhille, Mo Salah bagged a hat-trick and Diogo Jota was also on target.

How long will be be sidelined for?

Kopites now anxiously wait to see how long Keita could be sidelined for.

Jurgen Klopp has admitted the former RB Leipzig midfielder suffered a shin injury and is unsure on a time frame.

Klopp said: “We have to see how serious it is. Very painful. We will know more tomorrow or the day after. Naby is in a great moment. He’s an outstanding player.”

The Reds have a midfield crisis on their hands, with James Milner limping off in the first half of the Old Trafford clash with a hamstring issue.
