Jurgen Klopp confirms hammer blow for Liverpool with three-word answer at press conference

Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Thiago Alcantara will not be available for Liverpool’s Champions League clash against Ajax tomorrow.

The midfielder missed Saturday’s 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest because of an ear infection.

And Thiago is still being troubled by the issue.

Asked on the Spain international at his pre-match press conference, Klopp said: “Still out, yeah.”

Klopp was then quizzed on whether Thiago was close to being available for the game at the end of his press conference - to which he replied: “No.”

Then asked if Thiago could be doubtful for the clash against Leeds United this weekend, the Liverpool boss said: “I hope not but who knows.”
