It's Liverpool's first major final since winning the Champions League in 2019.

Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp aims to clinch his first cup competition as Anfield boss.

He lost to Manchester City on penalties in the same competition in 2016 - his first season in charge.

And it is Atwell who'll be in the middle for the game against Chelsea.

The 39-year-old has been part of the Select Group of referees since 2016.

He's taken charge of two Liverpool games this season - the 3-3 draw at Brentford and 1-0 defeat of Aston Villa.

Atwell also officiated Chelsea's 3-0 victory over Villa.

In total, the Nuneaton-based referee has dished out 61 yellow cards and one red card in 18 matches.

Atwell will be assisted by Dan Cook and Daniel Robathan, while Andrew Madley has been assigned fourth-official duties.

Reserve assistant referee is Tim Wood and Darren England will be in charge of VAR.
