Liverpool beat Chelsea on penalties in the Carabao Cup final after an entertaining 0-0 draw.

Liverpool are toasting their Carabao Cup triumph after defeating Chelsea in a dramatic Wembley final.

The Reds needed penalties to defeat Thomas Tuchel’s men and win the competition for a ninth time in the club’s history.

The game ended goalless after extra-time, with both sides having their chances.

Jurgen Klopp’s side had a goal disallowed for offside when Joel Matip headed home in the second half following a VAR review.

Meanwhile, Chelsea had three goals chalked off for offside.

Caoimhin Kelleher made himself the Reds’ hero.

Not only did the goalkeeper make several crucial saves from Christian Pulisic and Romelu Lukaku, he ended up Klopp’s outfit’s surprising match winner.

With no outfield players on either side missing their spot-kick, it came down to the goalkeepers at 10-10.

Kelleher slammed his effort home before Kepa Arrizabalaga - who was brought on for the shootout - skied over to hand Liverpool success.

LiverpoolWorld made Kelleher man of the match for his outstanding display, while Luis Diaz and Andy Robertson were also impressive.
