Liverpool are now preparing to close out their season, taking on bottom club Southampton in a dead-rubber on Sunday.

Manchester United’s win during the week saw the Reds’ top four hopes officially ended, and Jurgen Klopp’s men are guaranteed to finish in fifth place, heading into next season’s Europa League. This summer is going to be hugely important for the Reds, who need a number of signings to strengthen their squad, and their midfield, in particular.

As the Reds look to go out with a bang this weekend, we have rounded up all the latest news surrounding Anfield.

Mac Allister latest

Liverpool are said to have all-but wrapped up a deal to sign Brighton star Alexis Mac Allister ahead of the summer window opening.

According to Football Insider, the Reds are ‘confident’ of pushing through a deal, which is said to be ‘95%’ agreed. It’s claimed the World Cup winner will triple his current salary by switching the Seagulls for the Reds. It’s reported he will earn around £150,00-per-week at Anfield, and that he will say goodbye to Brighton fans this weekend.

A full agreement has not been reached just yet, according to the report, but an agreement is said to be close, and both Liverpool and the player are reportedly confident.

Elsewhere, Football Insider are reporting Liverpool midfielder Fabio Carvalho could find a new loan club.

Carvalho looks likely to leave on loan ahead of next season, with Jurgen Klopp admitting it is a possibility going into the summer. The report claims Premier League new boys Burnley are interested in snapping up Carvalho as they look to prepare for life back in the top tier.

Liverpool may be pursuaded to send Carvalho to Burnley given the attractive football Vincent Kompany has his team playing at Turf Moor.
