Jurgen Klopp has revealed that 23 players will travel for Liverpool’s Champions Legue trip to Porto on Tuesday night (20.00 BST).

Liverpool are aiming to continue their perfect start to their European campaign after defeating AC Milan 3-2 earlier this month.

Klopp’s squad is looking a lot stronger with Roberto Firmino returning from injury when coming off the bench in Saturday’s 3-3 draw with Brentford.

The Reds will again be without Thiago, though, who has a calf injury while Harvey Elliott (ankle) is a long-term casualty.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, Klopp said: “A big squad will travel. We have 23 players with us. Apart from the longer-term injuries, they are all in.

“No Thiago, no Harvey and the rest are available.”

Keita trains

Klopp admitted Liverpool have to make a decision on a couple of players’ fitness.

Naby Keita missed the trip to Brentford but was part of this morning’s training session.

Neco Williams has also been out for several weeks but is closing in on a return.

Klopp added: “We have one or two who we have to make a decision about that - who will train here and who will come with us.

“No new concerns at the moment and hopefully it stays like this.”

Could anyone be rested?

Against Milan, Klopp surprisingly benched Virgil van Dijk to give him a breather.

The Liverpool chief could again be tempted to rest one or two of his key players ahead of Sunday’s crunch clash against Premier League title rivals Manchester City.
