Liverpool player ratings gallery: two stars score 8/10 and plenty of 7/10s in Ajax victory

Liverpool player ratings from the 3-0 victory over Ajax in the Champions League.

Liverpool advanced into the knockout stages of the Champions League with a 3-0 victory over Ajax at the Joha Cruyff Arena.

Mo Salah, Darwin Nunez and Harvey Elliott were on target to ensure the Reds qualfied from Group A with one match to spare.

Liverpool rode their luck in the first half with Ajax missing two glorious chances. In just the second minute, Steven Berghuis hit the post with just Alisson Becker in the Reds goal to beat before Dusan Tadic had a shot blocked by Trent Alexander-Arnold.

And Jurgen Klopp’s side would punish the Dutch champions when Salah finished intelligently on 42 minutes.

Nunez missed a gilt-edged chance shortly before the break when he struck the post - but atoned for that error four minutes into the second period when heading home Andy Robertson’s corner.

Then Liverpool ensured they’d be in the next stage of the competition when Elliott finished with aplomb from an acute angle.

Here’s how we rated the Liverpool players.
