Liverpool to offer over £100k p/w to Chelsea star amid Real Madrid & Bayern Munich interest

Liverpool are looking to snap up a Chelsea star on a free next summer.

Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger has been in spectacular form since Thomas Tuchel’s arrival at Stamford Bridge and has become a staple in their defence.

The centre-back helped them to Champions League success and has played all but one of their Premier League fixtures as they have spent most of the campaign in first place.

However, it is looking increasingly likely that Rudiger is set to leave the Blues come the end of the season.

After four years with the London outfit, Rudiger’s contract will expire next summer and a host of clubs are looking to snap up the 28-year-old.

According to El Nacional, Jurgen Klopp has been keen on Rudiger for some time and is preparing to offer him a deal that would earn him much more than his current £100,000 a week contract at Chelsea.

It has also been reported that the Reds would guarantee Rudiger a place in the starting line-up alongside Virgil Van Dijk - despite signing Ibrahima Konate for £36 million earlier this year.

Who else wants to sign him?

Real Madrid and Bayern Munich are both reportedly confident of securing a deal for Antonio Rudiger, with the ex-Roma defender able to talk to overseas clubs from January.

Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain are also interested in the 28-year-old, however it is thought that Rudiger has his sights set on a move to Spain.

While Rudiger was happy to remain with Chelsea, the two parties have so far been unable to come to an agreement on a new contract with the Germany international hopeful of an increase on his current salary.
