Suddenly, there is a title race again, but looking further afield, there is work to be done behind the scenes for Liverpool to close the gap on Pep Guardiola’s men.
City could win the title for the second successive season if Liverpool can’t topple them this term, and there will be work ongoing to find players who will help the Reds close that gap.

Liverpool have been linked with a move for Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic but there has been a big update.
The dominant midfielder is out of contract at San Siro at the end of this season, and Fichajes claim the Reds could move to snatch him up for nothing.
But Fabrizio Romano has now explained: “Marcelo Brozović will sign his new contract with Inter today. Done deal. Total agreement reached on verbal basis weeks ago - now set to be signed, matter of hours.”
Bowen vs Raphinha
Liverpool continue to be linked with wing options with Mo Salah’s new contract yet to be sorted out.

But if the Reds do go to market for one reason or another, Leeds United’s Raphinha continues to be touted for a move to Anfield, despite his ongoing contract talks with Leeds United.
According to Liverpool.com, both Raphinha and West Ham United’s Jarrod Bowen find themselves on Liverpool’s shortlist.
United enter Carvalho race
Liverpool came up a little short in their bid to land Fulham wonderkid Fabio Carvalho during the January window, and Klopp has said he would still be interested in a move.

The Star say sources inside Old Trafford have made noises about a possible hijacking of Liverpool’s move, and this could be one to keep an eye on as we move closer to the summer.
The price in January was around £5million, but that could now rise with interest from elsewhere.
