Liverpool look to take one giant leap towards Wembley when they welcome Arsenal to Anfield in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg on Thursday (19.45).

The Reds are on the cusp of reaching a domestic cup final, having not done so since finishing runners-up to Manchester City in this competition six years ago.

Jurgen Klopp’s side were forced to postpone last week’s first leg at the Emirates Stadium because of a suspected Covid-19 outbreak.

Now Liverpool will be hoping to head to the capital for the return game with an advantage.

Here is all the key information needed ahead of kick-off.

Liverpool team news

Despite the suspected Covid-19 outbreak last week, only Trent Alexander-Arnold returned a positive test.

However, before Liverpool’s 4-1 FA Cup defeat of Shrewsbury, a tweet from the club’s official account said the right-back would return to training in the coming days. That suggests he should be available.

Alisson Becker, who contracted the virus earlier this month, was again absent against the Shrewsbury but should also be back.

Thiago Alcantara is sidelined with a hip injury while Divock Origi hasn’t featured for the past seven games.

Nat Phillips has been absent with a fractured cheekbone while Harvey Elliott continues his comeback from a dislocated ankle.

Mo Salah (Egypt), Sadio Mane (Senegal) and Naby Keita (Guinea) are all away at the African Cup of Nations.

Mikel Arteta will be expected a response after the Gunners were dumped out of the FA Cup by Championship side Nottingham Forest.

Granit Xhaka and Folarin Balogun missed the tie because of positive coronavirus tests. Arteta was unsure when either would return.

Emile Smith Rowe had a tight groin and was not risk, although he’s a doubt to be involved against Liverpool.

Takehiro Tomiyasu (calf) was too unavailable.

Gabriel Magalhaes returns from a one-match suspension, while Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (Gabon), Thomas Partey (Ghana), Mohamed Elneny (Egypt) and Nicolas Pepe (Ivory Coast) are at AFCON.
