Premier League clubs have a break from action this weekend as the international fixtures take centre stage. Liverpool have enjoyed a strong start with three wins and one draw to start the campaign while it has been a tricky opening four games for Everton who have claimed just one point so far.

One of the main talking points this campaign has been the use of VAR. Liverpool saw a Mohamed Salah goal disallowed for offside by Stockley Park in the opening game of the season against Chelsea before benefitting from an offside call against Ben Chilwell 10 minutes later in the same game.

There has also been incidents where a lack of involvment from VAR has frustrated fans and players alike, with Alexis Mac Allister sent off against Bournemouth last month only to have his three-game overturned on appeal. Meanwhile, Everton saw Michael Keane’s goal controversially disallowed on the pitch in the 1-0 loss against Fulham, with no intervention from Stockley Park forthcoming.
