These Liverpool schools impressed Ofsted inspectors.
Pupils across the country will receive their GCSE results next week, marking the end of the secondary school journey for some, as they prepare to begin college in just a few weeks.
Other children are gearing up to begin secondary school in September, with many joining ‘big schools’ across Liverpool. But which local schools have impressed Ofsted inspectors?
Below is a list of all the Liverpool secondary schools to be rated as ‘good’ or ‘outstanding’ by inspectors*, in alphabetical order. Did your child’s school make the list?
*Please note, some schools listed have not had an inspection for several years.
Published in December 2022, the Ofsted report for The Blue Coat School states: “Pupils, and students in the sixth form, are extremely proud to attend The Blue Coat School. Staff are caring and supportive. This helps pupils to feel safe and happy at school. Pupils and students behave exceptionally well, conducting themselves maturely and confidently. Leaders act quickly to deal with any incidents of bullying. Leaders have high expectations of what pupils and students can achieve. As a result, pupils and students are eager to perform well. For example, they are diligent and attentive in lessons." Photo: Google Street View

40. Woolton High School - Good
Published in October 2018, the Ofsted report for Woolton High School reads: “Following my visit to the school on 11 September 2018 with Will Smith, Her Majesty’s Inspector, I write on behalf of Her Majesty’s Chief Inspector of Education, Children’s Services and Skills to report the inspection findings. The visit was the first short inspection carried out since the school was judged to be good in November 2013. This school continues to be good. The leadership team has maintained the good quality of education in the school since the last inspection. You and other leaders, including governors, know the school well. Since the last inspection, you have successfully overseen significant changes, with the closure of the boarding provision and the admission of girls to the school." Photo: Google Street View
