From a clamp down on litter and e-scooter use to more independent shops and police on the street, there are plenty of revisions and additions the people of Liverpool would like to see in the city centre. Here are 10 suggestions for changes, proposed by LiverpoolWorld readers.
5. More public toilets
This was a popular call. “More public toilets,” one reader commented. “They are very hard to find, especially at night.” The Great British Public Toilet Map shows fewer than two dozen publicly available accessible toilets in Liverpool.

7. A larger main square
Imber Clump says: “A larger main square and less traffic.” - Whether it’s Williamson Square, Concert Square or one of the many other squares in Liverpool, none of them really match up to European counterparts like The Grand-Place or Dam Square.
8. Pavements fixed
One LiverpoolWorld reader said: “Every time someone comes to mine they mention how bad the pavements are along the docks. Proper trip hazard.”
