Detectives investigating the murder of Leroy Venner in Anfield have charged a man. Mr Venner was found with head injuries on Wednesday, 27 July, at a house on Belmont Drive. Emergency services attended, and he was taken to hospital, where he sadly passed away. Kevin Spaine, 43, of no fixed abode, has now been charged with murder.

Royal Mail staff take part in strike action

Royal Mail staff have been taking part in a second day of strike action in a dispute over pay. This Summer has seen Arriva North West and Network Rail staff take strike action amidst the growing rate of inflation.
