Cost of living: ‘I’ve got three items in the pawn shop - it’s been that bad’

With fuel prices at the petrol pumps hitting record highs, prices for basic food items on the rise and energy bills set to sky rocket, people across the UK are feeling the pinch.

We hit the streets of Liverpool to ask if you have noticed your household costs creep up, and how are you coping with the rising prices?

‘I’ve got three items in the pawnshop’

Gary said: "I've got three items in the pawnshop. Does that answer your question? It's been that bad for a long time if you look down my end of the scale."

‘Some weeks it’s going to be a bit tight’

Ronnie said: “Some weeks it’s going to be a bit tight. The elecy comes, the gas, this and that. Next minute, you know, there’s no money.”

‘It’s not affecting me at the moment’

Liz said: "It's not affecting me at the moment, but I think once the big bills come in once they're gone up in October again, it'll affect everyone."
