COVID-19 booster jabs in Liverpool: Am I eligible and where can I get one?

There are eight walk-in centres listed in the Liverpool City Region for COVID-19 booster jabs and 1st, 2nd, 3rd dose vaccines as of Tuesday, November 30.

Millions more people in the UK are to be offered COVID-19 booster jabs under emergency measures.

The Government confirmed on Monday afternoon the booster programme will be rolled out to all adults in the coming weeks, in an effort to limit the spread of the Omicron variant which was first identified in Africa.

Five Omicron cases were identified in England including in London, Nottingham and Essex, followed by six more in Scotland.

Health Secretary Sajid Javid said on Monday afternoon that more details will follow “in the coming days” of how the programme will be extended

He added: “The NHS will be calling people forward at the appropriate time so that those who are most vulnerable will be prioritised.”

The Government website adds those “aged 18 to 39 will also be eligible for a booster when the NHS calls them forward.”

Who can currently get a COVID-19 booster vaccine?

Booster vaccine doses are available on the NHS for people most at risk from COVID-19 who have had a second dose of a vaccine at least six months ago (five months if pre-booking).

If you live in England and are aged 16 or over, you can find a walk-in site to get a COVID-19 vaccine without an appointment.

This includes:

  • people aged 40 and over
  • people who live and work in care homes
  • frontline health and social care workers
  • people aged 16 and over with a health condition that puts them at high risk of getting seriously ill from COVID-19
  • people aged 16 and over who are a main carer for someone at high risk from COVID-19
  • people aged 16 and over who live with someone who is more likely to get infections (such as someone who has HIV, has had a transplant or is having certain treatments for cancer, lupus or rheumatoid arthritis)
  • People who are pregnant and in 1 of the eligible groups can also get a booster dose.

Most people can:

  • book a vaccination appointment online for an appointment at a vaccination centre or pharmacy
  • go to a walk-in vaccination site to get vaccinated without needing an appointment
  • wait to be contacted by a local NHS service such as a GP surgery and book an appointment with them
  • people who work for an NHS trust or a care home will usually get their booster dose through their employer

Below are the walk-in centres in the Liverpool City Region where you do not need an appointment, unless stated, if you are eligible for a booster or a vaccine.
